My sister’s Galaxy S Blaze suffered a hardware failure. She had already purchased a new phone but wanted me to retrieve all the contacts and photos off of the Galaxy. After some brief research I found out that this was a common problem on several different models of Samsung Galaxy. It was due to poor quality SPST switches being used for the power button. The switches would prematurely fail in the closed position and cause the phone to endlessly power cycle. I solved this by simply de-soldering the switch from the main board and using a firmware exploit to start the phone.
